FANTASTIC FOLKS…
Now I know that I haven’t experienced loads of Get Out adventures quite yet, but the horse ride excursion to the beach was hands down my favorite so far!! The route though the local villages and countryside all the way to the beach showed us a whole new side of the Dominican Republic that I didn’t expect to see!! And the owners of Rancho Veragua Michelle and Jose, and the ranch manager Valerio are some of the MOST fantastic folks you will ever meet!! Michelle and Jose actually live in Connecticut where she’s a nurse and he’s a cop!! And Valerio is the main man who holds down the fort while they’re away:-). A couple of things that didn’t make the episode final cut…
- When we stopped at the “colmado” (general store) for agua and unexpected dancing, we practically rounded up the whole village to sing Happy Birthday to Valerio:-)!! It was a beautiful moment…
- After the adventure Michelle and Jose invited us back to their ranch to enjoy a YUMMY Dominican feast of chicken, rice, and salad… AND…. the unforgettable Mama Juana native drink. Ummm… let’s just say that the ride back to the Villa was an interesting one…
