I most certainly do chicky!! I actually feel like an expert in this area because before I moved out here, I traveled back and forth from Chi for a few years and stayed in SOOO many different hotels in ALL parts of LA. And of course the beach is without a doubt my fav place to stay and play! Here’s what I recommend…
If you wanna splurge- stay at Shutters on the Beach or Casa Del Mar. They are located right next door to each other and directly on Santa Monica Beach. Both are rather pricey but totally gorgeous and have yummy restaurants, amazing rooms, and unreal service! If you decide not to stay at either one you should be sure to at least have a drink at The Veranda in the lobby at Casa Del Mar and have brunch at Coast in Shutters (order the lemon pancakes).
If you wanna pay average- stay at Shangri-la or Oceana. They are located in close proximity to one another on Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica. Both are boutique hotels with fabulous rooms and service and are super close to all the action at the Third Street Promenade and Montana Avenue. Shangri-la is super chic and hip and has a fucking AWESOME pool and rooftop bar. Oceana is preciously intimate and cozy and has a darling pool and restaurant… quite romantico!
If you’re on a bit of a budget (it’s not much cheaper than the others)- stay at Loews. It’s kinda corporate but fabulous at the same time:-). It’s located practically right on the beach and right next to Santa Monica Pier. Their rooms are totally comfortable and spacious. And they have a great pool that serves a tasty burger.. my fav!
I hope that this helps you my friend and PLEASE let me know if you need more recommendations:-). Viva Santa Monica!!!
